RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ASIA SYNDROME AND BREAST IMPLANTS

ASIA Syndrome is a rare autoimmune or inflammatory reaction attributed to a foreign substance in the body. In the case of breast implants, the foreign substance would be silicone.

What are the aesthetic results after implant removal?

It depends on the patient. In most cases, breast reconstruction with new implants is performed. Some patients choose to remove their implants and not replace them; however, they should keep in mind that the aesthetic result will differ from the previous breast volume.
Although this condition is extremely rare, some patients with breast implants may experience symptoms such as chronic fatigue, joint and muscle pain, dry mouth and eyes, and neurological manifestations. However, as mentioned, these symptoms cannot be clearly identified or attributed 100% to silicone implants.
