Botulinum Toxin (Botox)

This treatment helps refresh facial expressions, softening the appearance of fatigue, anger, or aging.

Results become visible within a few days, revealing a younger and more relaxed look. The procedure is performed in the physician’s office and typically takes about 20 minutes. Within just a few days, improvements can be seen and may last for up to six months.

An additional benefit is that while the toxin is active, the facial muscles rest, helping to delay the natural aging process and prevent the formation of new lines.

The pharmacological effect of botulinum toxin occurs at the neuromuscular junction — the point where peripheral nerves connect with muscles.

At this junction, a neurotransmitter called acetylcholine is released to trigger muscle contraction.

Botulinum toxin works locally by blocking the release of acetylcholine, resulting in a temporary relaxation of targeted muscles.

This creates a chemical denervation effect without causing any physical damage to the nerves or surrounding tissues.

Recovery and Aftercare

This treatment requires no downtime, and you may resume your normal activities right after the procedure. However, it’s best to avoid strenuous physical activity for the first 24 hours.

You might notice mild redness or swelling at the injection sites, but you should not massage or touch the treated areas. Avoid direct sun exposure and try to rest for 4–5 hours in a calm environment following the treatment.

The medical team at Innova will provide personalized guidance regarding any necessary skincare adjustments or additional medication, depending on your individual needs and treatment plan.
