Vaginoplasty (Vaginal Rejuvenation)

Vaginoplasty, also known as vaginal rejuvenation, is a surgical procedure designed to restore vaginal muscle tone that may have been lost due to childbirth or aging. It can also reconstruct or improve the appearance of the vagina, whether for functional or aesthetic reasons.

Many women experience a loss of vaginal elasticity or muscle tone after vaginal deliveries or as part of the natural aging process. This can lead to a wider vaginal canal, reduced sexual satisfaction, discomfort for the partner, or even urinary incontinence.

These changes can significantly affect quality of life and self-esteem. In the past, many women believed this was “normal” or that there was no solution, often carrying this discomfort silently. Today, women are empowered to take ownership of their bodies and their sexuality, seeking treatments that help them feel confident and whole again.

Recovery and Aftercare

The recovery period after vaginoplasty typically lasts 7 to 10 days. During this time, local ice application is recommended to help reduce swelling. Calendula baths can also be very beneficial for soothing and healing. Patients should take prescribed pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications as directed.

Most women can resume daily activities after the first week, but should avoid bathing in pools, tubs, rivers, or the ocean for at least four weeks, lifting heavy objects for two months, and engaging in sexual activity for six weeks following the procedure.

To minimize the risk of infection, an antibiotic dose is administered at the beginning of the surgery, and it is essential to follow all postoperative care instructions carefully for a smooth and safe recovery.
